Dudley
Meet Dudley, an incredibly sweet chihuahua who found himself in our care here at the humane society of Fremont County after his owner passed away. Dudley was quite fearful upon first intake but quickly turned around with a bit of TLC. After a quick trip to the vet we confirmed that he was in need of a dental, but other than that this sweet senior is in pretty good health! We would love to help this sweet guy get out of the shelter, we hope to hear back from you soon.

Burt
I’m Burt, an 8 year old male Boxer mix. I am very sweet, good with other dogs, can be a bit quiet, TINY and adorable, with the most boop-able nose.
My foster says: Burt’s such a good little guy; sweet, lovable, and quiet. He just wants love. He does super well in his crate, loves playing and loves our male dog, doesn't bark or chew. He’ll admire his reflection in a mirror, says it's not easy being this cute! I’d bet his ears make up 30 percent of his 32 pounds!

Delia
I’m Delia, an 8 year old female Boxer. I'm a brindle beauty, enjoy pup cups and if I’m feeling fancy will prance down the street proud as a pony to show off my “white socks”, chill, potty trained, not destructive, will inspect the yard for squirrels, so cute and cuddly, charmed the UPS guy (gotta love a guy in uniform), I rock the socks off that hat and sweater set, love massages, very affectionate with my humans, and give great hugs.

Lucky Charm
I’m Lucky Charm, a 9 year old male Boxer mix. I am good with other dogs and kids, steal everyone’s spot on the couch (dog or human), love snuggle time and belly rubs, like watching the world go by out the window, great in crate and can free roam (not destructive).
My foster adds: Lucky Charm is such a happy boy: happy in the backyard, happy to stay inside, happy with dogs, happy without dogs, happy getting undivided attention, happy to share attention, happy in his crate, happy to free roam, happy eating kibble, happy eating wet, happy waking up, happy going to bed. He does great meeting people, and really loves our small and medium sized dogs (follows them around the yard!)

Tiger
I’m Tiger, an 11 year old male Boxer. I am a friendly boy, enjoy the company of other dogs, getting TLC in my foster home to put on some weight.
My foster adds: Tiger is doing well, SO sweet, a lap dog yet loves to curl up and sleep in “his” chair, starting his obedience cues, uses the dog door, makes the most adorable sounds while sleeping!

Houston
Houston was found living in an abandoned convenience store after Hurricane Harvey tore through Texas in August 2017. The rescue group named him Houston after the city where he was found. It's estimated he was less than a year old when he was rescued. He was adopted by a family in December 2017, settled into a routine alongside his humans, & quickly bonded with his new "older brother”–a Bichon Frise 7 years his senior. They all moved to Colorado in 2018. His Big Brother passed away at age 15 in 2025. Houston was a protective, wonderful companion to him right up to Big Brother's very last day.
Houston is not 100% himself in apartment life. He needs a place with a yard and a mature human who can take him on all kinds of excursions throughout the day.
True to his terrier side, he is energetic, curious, and playful. He loves car rides, longwalks, sunbathing, and snouting in the snow –he thinks he's a Husky! If you're not giving him enough attention, he'll sit in front of you & let out the softest little song to let you know it's time to stop what you're doing & play. He loves attention & is willing to sit on your lap for petting. He's very empathetic & will rest his head on your lap if he senses you're having a rough day. When it's bedtime, he'll cozy up behind your bent legs or against your stomach so you can be his Big Spoon.
Older kids are a better fit since the chihuahua in him might be provoked by small humans who don't understand boundaries. He could do well with another dog around his age, size, & temperament. Cats unknown.

Fritter
In November 2024, this sweet old man hobbled his way in through our doors, clearly needing some help and a whole lot of TLC. Fritter is an 8 year old, neutered male beagle who is dog selective. He is able to get along with others so long as they are able to respect his space and slower speed, and really just seems interested in finding a cozy spot to relax and take it easy. Fritter has been fully vetted, I will attach his latest wellness exam down below. We switched his diet to Z\D dog food and put him on some medications he will likely need to stay on for the remainder of his life--Amantadine and Librela. We have also been giving him B-12 injections to increase his immunity. Fritter is a sweet old man who needs out of the shelter, this is no place for a senior.

Kaiser
Kaiser is an easy going guy! He’s likely to fit in well in a variety of homes. Kaiser enjoys long walks where he can put his nose to work and enjoy the fresh air. Kaiser’s previous family described him as a fun, silly boy with lots of love to give. Kaiser may appreciate a family where he can be the center of his adopter’s attention.

Charlie
This sweet boy knows how to walk like a pro on a leash and is always up for a nice, sniff-filled stroll. He’s also a big fan of treats, gentle pets, and all the attention he can get. Charlie is looking for a loving home where he can enjoy his days lounging in the sun, going for leisurely walks, and resting his head on a big, soft bed after a day full of adventures. Charlie has done well meeting other dogs so far. As an older dog, we’ve noticed he has hip issues. Charlie is neutered, Heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccinations.

Max
Max is a sweet and mature boy looking for a family to spoil him! He’s a big fan of fetch and then will content to snuggle up on the couch with his adopter.
Who doesn’t get that warm feeling when you see a dog having the time of its life just rolling around in the grass?! Well, that’s Max when our volunteers take him out for his walks. He’s very easy to leash and walk and sits politely for treats. And they think he has a beautiful smile.
Max has enjoyed opportunities for casual recreation with other dogs, but he would prefer not sharing his living space. He will only be rehomed to a family with children 10 or older and without other dogs.

Artica & Yoda
Artica & Yoda are probably Husky Mixes, around 60-65 pounds each. They have been bonded since they were puppies. They were adopted by their human as puppies, would sleep in bed with him, sit on the couch with him, and he would take them for at least two-mile walks every day. Unfortunately, their human passed away from cancer last year. These girls need to stay together! They have great dispositions, love all people and most dogs but cats not so much!

Robbie
Hi! I am Robbie, a highly intelligent, talented 12 year old purebred Border Collie. I have spent most of my life training, competing, and winning in the sport of agility and just hanging out too. I know all sorts of commands like sit, wait, down, right and left and lots of agility words. I just love running, playing, swimming, and learning anything new. I will also lay at your feet when you are at the computer or relaxing. I haven't met a cat ever so l don't know what I would think of cats, and kids aren't my thing. I have lived with other dogs, and they're OK, but I really love my person so much. Sometimes if people reach too quickly at me it makes me nervous. I have an old sports injury to my knee, but with gradual return to work we can do anything together! I am fully housebroken and crate trained and fluent with using a dog door. I would thrive with a person experienced with dogs. I ride nicely in the car. I am very handsome and just brimming with enthusiasm, athleticism, and intelligence and can't wait to meet you!

Dottie
Spayed Female, Pitbull, 63lbs. **Heartworm positive**
Dottie is a sweet soul deserving of a second chance! She arrived emaciated and covered in cuts and sores. Dottie is incredibly affectionate and loves gentle pets and short walks. Gilbert
Neutered Male, Shepherd Mix, 67lbs. **Heartworm positive**
Gilbert's face and body tell a hard knock story, but despite the scars he's still a happy boy who loves walks and cuddles. Gilbert would love to spend his twilight years in a home with a big fluffy bed, neighborhood strolls, and an endless supply of treats.... which he takes with a very gentle mouth! He is house, crate and leash trained. Loves all people and has even made an appearance on the KOB4 local news, where he ate it all up! He can be a little anxious in the car, but his fosters are currently working on this. From our experience, we think he may have a little leash reactivity from having to protect himself in the past, but with recent dog tests he has done great. His fosters have now nicknamed him "Birdie" due to the little chirps he makes when he wants something; full of personality this guy is so ready for his new home.

If that’s your speed, too, Libby may be a perfect fit for you! Libby and her big ears are hoping to fly out of the shelter and into your home following this transitional phase of her life.
Libby has enjoyed pets, treats and going on sniff adventures during her time here. We’ve been told by our volunteers that she is easy to walk and knows how to sit politely.

Debbie
Meet Debbie! This lady is looking for a new home to decompress in following a transitional period of her life. Debbie came to Foothills due to health issues of her previous owners. They noted that she enjoys “talking” with her people throughout the day to express her needs to go out or receive attention. Once comfortable in her new home you may note that she enjoys cuddling up under a blanket for a cozy nap.
Sometimes Debbie just can’t contain herself when our volunteers approach her kennel to take her for a walk, but once they get her leashed up and outside, she calms down and walks politely, at times wanting to carry a toy with her. She loves to be petted and enjoys tasty treats.
Debbie spent some time in foster care, and her foster person described Debbie as the snuggliest of all snugglers who will go belly-up for rubs and pats within minutes of being with her people.
Debbie is recommended for a home without young children, and she will only be placed without other dogs.

Admiral Robert
Admiral Robert desperately needs out of the shelter so he can live his days in peace and not in the stressful shelter environment. He is estimated to be about 12-14. We can help figure out transport if a plan can be secured. Admiral Robert came in as a stray and no one came forward for him. He has masses throughout his body and has some arthritis due to possible hip dysplasia. He is on pain meds to help manage the arthritis and they seem to be helping him get around better. The shelter is definitely not a place for this old guy!

Tracy
Tracy is sweet, calm and gentle. Tracy is all kisses and She lost their beloved owner and his house was getting sold. At first she was lonely and confused, but adjusted very quickly. Good with dogs, easy to take care of. She is pleasant to a have around, never a nuisance, but she makes even chores a little bit more fun. She can be adopted with Lucia or seperately. Norris
Calling all retirees! Looking for a best friend to spend your days with? Norris ideal home would be with a retired couple. He is a 9yr old, 65lb gentleman, with a heart of gold! He would love nothing more than to live out his golden years right by your side. Are you a routine kind of person? Then Norris is your guy! He is very routine driven and loves his breakfast at 0-seven-hundred and his leisurely morning walk right after (more sniffing than walking). He'll curl up right next to you on the couch for afternoon belly rubs and naps. He could snuggle all day (although he wouldn't turn down an afternoon walk) until dinner time and his evening stroll.
Norris ideal home would be with a retired couple that loves to walk. He LOVES walking and walks well on the leash most of the time. He is a strong guy, and sometimes pulls when he sees other dogs. He always checks in with you no matter what he is doing to make sure he is doing it right. He is an easy going guy that just wants to be loved. As an older guy he does not have much tolerance for kids, so no kids is a must. He would like a calm doggie sibling to show him the ropes and provide him comfort when his people are not home. He does not show interest in playing with other dogs, he just wants affection from his hoomans. He does great with his 55lb and 24lb foster dog siblings.
His story is sad, he was found abandoned in a house and had been there for quite some time without food. He came to the shelter 25lbs underweight. Because of being abandoned in a house, he does have some separation anxiety, which is totally understandable! He does ok if he has a calm doggy sibling to be left at home with, but he is most happy to be with his humans. He needs a patient, loving person who understands he has separation anxiety and is willing to help him build his confidence slowly. He loves and needs to have a set daily routine (this is good for his anxiety). Don't let these quirks lead you to overlooking this sweet boy, he truly is an amazing guy that just wants to be loved!
