Finn, aka Finnster, came to us in June 2026 after his owner died and we launched a 4-week effort to find him a new family. We interviewed many people but no one was quite right for an overweight old dog with pretty significant mobility issues. We admitted him, put him on an exercise and weight loss program, got meds and acupuncture, and within weeks he was walking much more solidly and confidently (and loving his walks). Not surprisingly, being a Lab, he instantly integrated with the other sanctuary dogs and seems to have a special relationship with our big Pyr Kai. The two of them like lying on the back porch together watching morning break.
